I've taken to carrying my fife around in my backpack and, now that it's warm outside, playing between classes. I try to play flute every day, and often succeed at that. All my playing is strictly for my own amusement; I'm not in any performing groups or planning to play in public besides tootleing on the fife, so practicing feels like giving myself a present. It's suddenly become a great escape and joy to play music, especially when the alternative is eigenvalues and wavefunctions.
