Skarpi, my friend, you are so eloquent in what you say/write. Thank you for sharing with us. I think you have done very well in identifying what you think of as "problems" and how you want to resolve them. If life is easier because of those changes that will be great!
I know my Rog and I have often talked about cutting back on what we strive to have so that he does not have to work so hard. I know this would be a good thing, especially for his long-term health. We are working on cutting back right now and hope that will go a long way in relieving some stress we've both been under. The stress is not worth it and you are right, when we pass on we don't take any of it with us.
It is important to spend time with friends and family, but, as others have said, it doesn't do any good to look back at the past and regret. I believe you have always done the best you knew how to at any particular time, which is all we can ask of ourselves. If we learn from those experiences then they have served their purpose, in my opinion. Remember what Art Thieme always says, "Onward and upward!"
And,know you have many friends who love you, Skarpi,
