So you've shuffled off this mortal boil, Barrie!! We kept in touch despite a few hundred miles and the Channel in between, with Christmas cards, some calls, advice on various matters of history where the Roberts Foundation (your memory!) was essential; rare but precious moments of contact. Even rarer moments of going over some of our old times, like being together with the above-cited mate Mike James in the 'Songsmiths'; Mike can talk!! I can remember repairing the distribution cap on Mike's car while we were all three on the way to a gig: it was peeing down and those two were in the car watching me and having a great bicker (a group speciality, which only underlined the fun we had. That revolving stage, for instance, in Birmingham. We followed some group or other, and we were all prepared on our part of the stage, instruments in hand and standing in front of the mikes. The stage started to turn, and you started saying to Mike and me "What have we come down to, playing for these Conservative gits?" ... the only thing was that the mikes turned on automatically as our section of the stage was revealed ... a fine moment!)
Bless you old son, and I hope a dog didn't piss in your tucker box on the way to wherever you are now!!
