Hey, Banjoman, nice to hear from you again. I've seen that instrument also, but have no idea what it is called. All I know is that in the earlier decades of the 20th century, they were prolific at turning out many unique stringed instruments. A lot of them were "Courting Instruments", designed for two players, to help keep them occupied as there were not yet any drive in movies. I don't think they were ever highly successful!
