Thanks, Villan. I'm going to print your list out.

I avoid using the mouse whenever possible. I read in a book by an MD that using a mouse in hard on the hand.

With a IBM-type computer, there is a choice on the Control Panel called Accessibility Options. There you can turn on Sticky Keys, which enables one to combine Ctrl, Alt and Shift with other keys without having to hold them all down.

The result? My left hand can open, close, save or print a file by skipping up the keyboard (Alt, F, o, for example) rather than using the mouse. I much prefer it.

Curiously enough, my new system (Windows XP Home) lets me do this without even setting up Sticky Keys on the Control Panel.

Other features on the Accessibility panel can be useful. I've set it so that the computer squeaks when I hit the caps lock. I hit it accidentally a lot and appreciate the notice.
