I do use a fictional name which is inspired by my interest in nautical songs. "Charley Noble" is sailor's slang for the galley stove pipe and I also think it has a nice ring to it. My first name is really "Charlie" which fits in well with the nickname.

Mudcat was the first website that I ever took a serious interest in and initially I was somewhat concerned about using my real name. I'm less concerned now but everyone has to figure out his or her comfort level when deciding what to call oneself as a member.
