A little thread drift which may amuse you on the difference between American bacon and English bacon.

When the Glen Rock Carol Singers came to Sheffield in 2002 - they were treated to a full English breakfast soon after their overnight flight. Many had never left America before.

As the (plated) breakfast came out one of them took a look at the slices of back bacon neatly grilled lying on a plate, turned to his companion and whispered "I think this bacon is raw".

I dread to tell you what they thought of the black pudding. No doubt they put maple syrup on it.
