Subject: RE: Tatus- Polish Folk Song
Looking for lyrics to a nursery rhyme/song that when translated into english means (sort of)Nie pe kurku nie pe - ja oseepum (child's name) mawla bewa noch..........
Its a lullaby to rock the child to sleep. I apologize for the horrible spelling - but hopefully someone will understand my meaning. Thank you!
I know it's "Nie piej, kurku, nie piej," from Three Lullabies by Górecki, H. M., and I found from another source that the lyrics are traditional and mean, "Don't crow, cock, don't crow." There's an interesting page on Górecki in the USC Polish Music Journal.
The search goes on.
