We get BBC TV news with our regular cable programing so we got better coverage. The SUV did burn for a long time, but much of the water was being put on the building entry; the object being to protect the building, not just to douse the vehicle, and that was done.

CNN is always heavy on speculation, mostly unfounded. A very poor news source. Too much time spent on murders, foibles of the rich and famous, etc., and building local tragedies into national entertainment.
