I didn't think to mention those light bulbs, I changed out my lamps and lights years ago. I have both the curly fluorescent ones and some of the little enclosed bulb halogen ones. I think the later fell into disfavor because they don't last as long as the packaging promised. I found a bunch on sale and picked up several packs. They're more accommodating about rheostat usage.
