I remember seeing a neighbor's barn burn down after being struck by lightening. My brother who was about 2 slept through it and my parents wouldn't wake him. I was no more than three or four.

Then when I was 3, I remember climbing down inside a rock lined well and being rescued by a passing neighbor. If it hadn't been for the family dog I would still be there. He stopped a neighbor and lured him to the well.
