Re. changing fashions and political correctness and words of songs and so on, at school in the early eighties we still got "Polly Wolly Doodle", which included the lines,

"I came to a river and I couldnt get across,
(singing "polly-wolly-doodle" all de day),
So I jumped on a nigger cos I thought he was a hoss,
(singing "polly-wolly-doodle-all-de-day")

I regret to say that we all substituted for the N word the name of a particular teacher, which wasnt right at all. He was of Indian origin, not African.
