Thread Name: Jim Page in Liverpool - 23rd July
Subject: Jim Page in Liverpool - 23rd July
Hope you don't mind the blatant plug but the brilliant US singer-songwriter Jim Page is playing in Liverpool on Monday July 23rd. I got fed up waiting for someone to arrange a gig for Jim in my town so I did it myself!
Jim has been on the scene for more than thirty-five years and his reputation continues to grow. He has shared the stage with the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Dan Bern, Michelle Shocked, Leftover Salmon, Mickey Hart, J.J. Cale, Robert Hunter, Chuck Brodsky, and John Hammond. His songs have been performed by Christy Moore, Michael Hedges, John Trudell, The Doobie Brothers, Joanne Rand, Casey Neill, and (yes) David Soul.
"In the tradition of Woody and Dylan, he cuts right to the heart with music you actually enjoy listening to. I'm a longtime admirer." - Bonnie Raitt
"Every now and again I encounter a singer who gives me a glimmer of hope. Jim Page carries the light." - Christy Moore
Jim will be appearing at the View Two Gallery, 23 Matthew Street, Liverpool (just across the road from the famous Cavern club) on the 23rd July. Doors will open at 8.00 pm. Another legendary songwriter, Liverpool's own Bruce Scott (who wrote, among many other songs, 'The People's Own M.P, covered by Christy Moore), will open the evening.
Tickets are £7.00 at the door, or you can PM me at CCBJEBBRB@aol.com.
Details of the venue can also be found at:

Jim has a myspace site where he advertises his gigs so you can also go there:

Anyone who has seen or heard Jim will understand why he is so highly regarded. This promises to be a great gig. I'm not trying to make any money here - I just want to make this happen.
