I think there is a difference between a book primarily written for adults that presents racist stereotypes, and a children's book that does. The comment that I read was from a man whose wife was from Africa. He picked the book up out of curiosity, thinking he'd give it to their two small children and decided against it when the native Africans were depicted to look like monkeys. I don't blame him.
