Thread Name: BS: The Wall of Python
Subject: RE: BS: The Wall of Python
I wasn't able to try out more than a couple of the clips with my connection. I was almost ready to shut down, so I let the load run while I did "other things" and got one completely downloaded, and about a third of another.
The notice I got, in a Jim Louderback (Ziff Davis) newletter:
"Do you like Monty Python? I do. And now there's a huge way to satisfy that craving. It's called "the wall of Python," and it brings up all the episodes in an amazing interface. Waste time, watch the Brits, and forget about work for a while!"
That one links to the report on "The Wall" at AppScout which is a PC Magazine site reporting "killer aps(?)" that the editors come across and decide are worth reviewing.
The site statement:
AppScout is brought to you by the editors and analysts of PC Magazine, who scour the world in search of the best software, sites, and Web apps. We're reporting on it all: the killer apps, the crazy startups, the useful (or just gimmicky) Web sites, and the beta software that crashes our machines. And we love to give advice, so ask away!
I don't bother looking at many of the "new apps" that they review, simply because most of them are bandwith hogs that my connection can't handle.
People with "real internet" who can enjoy YouTube and similar stuff might find other stuff at the site that will offer equally uselesss timewasting, and might even find some things that are useful; but you're on your own for finding it. Check the sidebars for topics.
