can't help you but if anyone is from there, my great grandmother was from there. Her name was Margaret Lyons (Maggie) and we don't know much about her...she was born 1830 to 1833. Her father's name was Cornelius Lyons. She ended up in Clermont Iowa by 1860 or so, married to Timothy Garvey. It was possibly an arranged or mail-order type marriage. Someone in the family (not necessarily the Lyons)owned a store in Cork... email me please at mgarvey@wsu.edu if you can shed any light on this...mg
