Mmario, I am in luck there -- the Woody's label specifies hickory smoke so I know I am using the right one. Also, this product hasn't changed since the 1950s, when I rather think hickory was the only one available. Finally, Woody's was from the south, where hickory is the preferred smoking wood; I think mesquite is more southwestern.)
