You are right - with a performer of (say) Slim's stature, a repertoire builds up which is identified by his/her fans as a body of "his/her songs". A thread dediciated to any performer who has a large following will help those who come here to find lyrics / tunes / chords / history / translations?... even if those with a wider view see all sorts of other connections - even "ownerships".

If the thread works ... what other justifications does it need?
