You're quite right, of course, Rapaire. I just felt the epilogue jarred with the tone of the rest of the book, and didn't really add anything. It didn't tell us whether Harry did, in fact become an Auror; or what happened to the Dursleys; or anything we might want to know.

I was simply a bit disappointed that it was something of an anti-climax after the triumphal finale.
