Robert Mitchum wrote and sang "The Legend of Thunder Road" based on the Robert Mitchum film. It wasn't used in the movie.

And Mitchum didn't sing the theme song to "River of No Return" though I've heard that claimed, even on an A&E Biography of RM. That was Tennessee Ernie Ford (and Marilyn Monroe later in the film).
