Might I send verse, as sweet as wine, to lead
The way to pleasant dreams? I wish not tears,
But I would hold you while you sonnets read,
Run fingers through hair, and trace curve of ears.
I offer to you only what I might:
The gentle touch of fingers above eyes;
The kneading of soft flesh, in passion. Night
Fills with the dream of you; Heart hears but sighs.
What might I tell, that you would dreams desire?
Can visions in my mind reflect your smile,
Or look in eye? What would you now require
For hope that I might stay with you a while?
Should not true love be more than one can stand,
That it takes two to Love's embrace withstand?
