Thread Name: Croissant Neuf Festival in Wales
Subject: Croissant Neuf Festival in Wales
Hi there is going to be a rather special festival in Wales, near Usk, Monmouthshire, the weekend of Aug 17-19. It's called the
Croissant Neuf Summer Party.
Featuring a wonderful range of music, and a lot else in a secret location(you'll get the info when you get the tickets). A variety of music, folk, dance, world, you name it, take a look at the website. Lots of workshops, yoga, trance dance, arty stuff. The Boat Band will be there, playing their usual fiddle and accordion stuff, and I am involved in the lantern making workshops over the weekend, culminating in a fabulous lantern event(we hope) in the grove of trees in the old British Celtic hillfort up on the hill(part of the wonderfully remote festival site). Anyway, click on the blue bit and take a look at what's on.
Croissant Neuf, the organisers, have ben running the Alternative Energy /Greenfield part of Glastonbury Festival for 20 years, and are now running their very first festival on their own. Sort of Glastonbury without the Who, Arctic Monkeys and Shirley Bassey (but you can't have everything, this one has peace and seclusion, and good beer). It will be quite small, family friendly, and plenty of opportunity to sit around and make music if such is your fancy.
And, there is an ADDED BONUS. UK Mudcatters, perceptive lot that we are, will have noticed that the emphasis at Festivals this year has been on the MUD in Mudcatters. But, look at the longterm forecast: it's going to be good from the middle of August!!! YIPPEE. Hope to see some Catters there!
