Sonnet 06/06/01                        DLXIV

Will you then watch the sunrise in my arms
And hear the morning birds before we rise?
Will you help me enjoy the country charms
That city does not share? Shall I in eyes
Find heart's desire, or should I seek to see
Only reflections? Will the country air
Bring calm, at dawn? What can I do, what plea
Will let me visit, and your heaven share?
I envy you your evenings, and your nights
Away from noise and bustle. But I pray
You might break solitude, and share the sights
Of woods and gardens, mist rising with day.
Should I visit, might I the dawn enjoy,
And see your morning smile, to hope employ?
