The injection I got was not cortisone, and it was a very small localized amount.
I was resisting getting an injection, but I finally did, and that is what eventually stopped the
cycle of continuing pain. Getting ultrasound treatments on the wrist for a couple weeks
after the shot made a huge improvement. Apparently, the ultrasound helps to move
what was injected around in the cells.
Technically, this is de Quervain's tenosynovitis.
