The full-sized poodle and the airdale are the most likely to turn on their owners or family members. Avoid them.

The Labrador retriever can't be beat as an all-around pet. Companionship, intelligence and trainablilty. Also, they tend to stay mentally sharp as they get old, unlike the Irish setter and a few other unstable breeds.
