I like Pointers as well as anything, if you can put up with the need for 2 hours free running a day. GSP often more intelligent. But you can get an iffy Pointer too. My little Puff (OK, Germal Puff'n'Stuff if you want the full name) (smallish, well within breed standard liver and white) was very intelligent for a Pointer but hell with other dogs. She got jumped by a Staff at her first show, and never really got over it. Psycho. No warning - bang - other dog with bit missing off nose, then yelp for the pack to rescue her, which her parents Cassie (Hurwyn Calypso at Lokmadi) and Axel (Lokmadi Highspot) usually did.
