Bobert, I believe you ought to re-think this whole dog idea. The animals that are getting the vegetables are ready to invade the garden 24/7. You can't keep a dog out there that long. Dogs are pack animals. A dog that's put in solitary can go crazy, the same way a human would. And until it does, it will drive everybody nuts with its incessant barking.

Also, it's surprising how much it costs to keep a pet healthy and enjoyable.

I don't know what the answer is, but I don't believe a dog is the solution - not if you live next to a big park.
