Bassets have very dangly bits...all over the place.

I've known several cocker spaniels. Most of them were either crazy, or very stupid, or both of those at the same time. One was a sex maniac that would hump anything at all, animate or inanimate. Another was a paranoid bastard of a thing that hated everybody. He would try to sneak up from behind and nip your Achilles tendon when you weren't looking, and he stalked birds of all things!...with infinite patience. He was so good at this peculiar practice that he frequently caught robins and various other birds that were pecking about on the lawn. He would do this by spending 20 minutes or more edging up on the bird with almost imperceptibly tiny movements...then sieze it in one sudden lunge when it wasn't watching. An astonished squawk, an explosion of feathers and flailing wings, and another dead bird in the yard.

It was the one and only thing that stupid dog knew how to do well.
