You may not have experienced the problems in the UK.
The blind attachment of large numbers people to soccer causes problems in a small old country. TV shows little else - when it can get away with it, we have had riots between tribes which the football community seem to refuse to see as their problem and their duty to solve. It is aof course everyone's problem which politicians cannot do much about it - lest they votes. Something that pervasive has a duty. It barely addresses that duty. The problem has been worse but it is a long way from being solved.
Anything about soccer should acknowledge the problems it causes, whining is not strong enough. Action is needed, still.
I get the feeling that baseball in the US has largely solved the crowd/tribal problem. Hockey has been through it, has it solved the crowd problems yet?
Enjoying soccer? Some people enjoy trouble and can hide in large crowds. Large crowds need careful control, they are dangerous because of that too. Soccer should be acting, but seem hidebound, the vast sums of money have a big influence.
Hillsborough was a disater waiting to happen, it was caused by large crowds and the "me" generation demanding to be let in regardless of ploice remonstration on grounds of safety. Spectators were sad, how many were circumspect? Let alone acted on the experience? It is always someone elses fault and there are a lot of someone elses in large crowds, large number of police, large sume being paid to players, to TV.
Those of who don't like soccer told you so. Who was listening? No humble pie eaten over here.
