Contrary to how it may come across, I'm not a worryer on this matter. If worst came to worst I am confident that we - ALL of us - are capable of surviving a bad crunch. We are not nearly as alone and uninformed as the generations of the 1930s. As my mother said, it wouldn't have been as bad if they could have known that it would end one day.

Today we have a much better grasp of the forces at work.

(I am much more concerned about who we elect into government.)
