There were (and are, btw) many heroes in the movement, and many, like this brave woman, went largely unsung. It is gratifying to see Mrs. Morgan get some propers, and doesn't at all take away from the courageous stance that Mrs. Parks took. Mrs. Parks knew, and said often, that she simply was the visible symbol of many brave folks that took principled stands when it was dangerous to do so.
I love the article that detailed Mrs. Morgan's arrest. It says much that she agreed to pay the $100.00 fine for resisting arrest, but refused the other. I also laughed out loud at her comment about wanting to bite the second fella, but he looked to dirty.
God be good to this brave woman. May her story inspire others for generations. I believe I will take the LA Times article home and read it to my girls as a lesson in principled, brave stands.
