Lorcan, I do agree that Asheville is the best place to go to in New York City. Or at least, from New York City.

But southerners are always amazed at how much old timey/bluegrass/gospel/sacred harp,etc. is played up here- I wouldn't be surprised if there's more folk music here than anywhere else on the east coast .

Now if only we could get the Blue Ridge Mountains to move a little closer.
