Torn from the bosom of my family, just an empty chair as they gathered around the table to partake of Mom's cooking, tears falling like rain over their wounded and disabled sons and siblings (my brother is also a disabled American Veteran), knowing that we would never again be the smiling innocent young men who marched off to War, grins on our freckled boyish faces, little knowing the Horror of the trenches and No Man's Land that awaited us, knowing nothing of the whizz-bangs and 88s and buzz bombs and grapeshot and chemin-de-frise....
