Pretty scarce, I would think, unless these days they are "jams" or "open mike" nights.
Certainly was some good music at Aberdeen Uni FC between 1972-1975.
Guitarists were popular, because the committee were guitar players - Davy Graham, John James,Wizz Jones, Martin Carthy, Hamish Imlach,Dick Gaughan, Nic Jones[sure I've a photo somewhere], Chris Foster, Mike Whellans, Vin Garbutt and Tony Cuffe had one of his first gigs there with Dave Stewart.Silly Wizard, the Tannahills and Battlefield Band were all just starting to be noticed. Hedgehog Pie were popular too.We paid Billy Connolly £40 for a "Fresher's Night" concert. Barbara Dickson only got £35 on a later night. Some good local players too, the Gaugers/Ghille Mhor, Lizzie Higgins, Stanley Robertson, Janice Clark.
We also gave the Bothy Band their first gig in mainland Britain - a night never to be forgotten.
"Efcee" could add more, I'm sure.
