This is years after the event. Mulga Bill's Bicycle Band (title comes from a Banjo Patterson verse) began as a group of students from Latrobe University at the Polaris Inn in Melbourne in the early 1970s. I was just arrived from Ireland, and used to sing there sometimes on Friday nights in 1972. The Bushwhacker's Band also evolved from that group, and I have some of their CDs. I was hoping the Polaris might be there still, as I will be revisitng Australia in October this yeaar, 2007. Alas, it seems to have disappeared.
