One thing I like about the music community is that age seems to make little differance. My sons have many pickin' friends who are my age, including me, and I often pick with people less than haf my age. Here's a blog I posted a while back on Myspace that seems relevent to this discussion:

Geezer Grass
A few weeks back, Josh McCallen was offered a bluegrass gig at the Montreal House in Peterborough. His usual partner in the Otonabee River Boys, Clayton, was away playing with Washboard Hank, so he phoned up some friends to help him out. He called Dennis Delorme - dobro, Al Kirby - banjo, Martin Chapman - bass and me - mandolin. When I got there, Dennis, Al and Martin were sitting at a table near the stage. Dennis said,"Hi Jim. Welcome to the geezer table." I think Dennis is the youngest of the four of us and he's a grandpa. We decided to go with Dennis's idea and call ourselves GEEZER GRASS. The band for that night was called Josh McCallen & Geezer Grass. I'm pretty sure Josh is still in his twenties, so the name was perfect.
