Some thoughts there. If there were spaces after the start of the festival, I'm sure that no-one would be turned away. A lot of organisations now are charging highly for the use of property; this is usually attributed (probably rightly) to Health and Safety regs + insurance. But we do have good relationships with many organisations developed over the years.

Glad you mentioned hang-gliding. Anyone who camps at Fylde, take plenty of substantial pegs and guys. The problem is not always excessive wind, but sandy campsites - pegs pull out more easily than on heavier soil.
