This was the first time that I went to one of these lawn parties at Jean Ritchie's house. We came from more than 100 miles away, so it took several hours to get there, but it was well worth it. There was a great spirit of camaraderie and the singing and playing were exceptional. Despite the forecast for rain, the attendance was exceptional and in the end, the sky was clear making for a perfect day.
