The major complaint with Wild Blue seems to center around their "Fair Access Policy" (FAP). Each service level entails a maximum allowable amount of data per month that can be downloaded and uploaded. If a customer goes beyond that amount his service is slowed down to something equivalent to a slow dial-up connection. This is known as "getting fapped".
The major bones of contention seem to be: (1) Customers don't have access to up-to-the-minute usage data so they can get fapped unexpectedly. (2) Once one has been fapped and done the required amount of penance, it sometimes takes several calls to customer service to get them to "flip the switch" back to sattelite speed.
