They don't like being gelded that much for some reason...

Look, a god doesn't HAVE to walk up the stairs! Specially not on one of those steep Mayan or Aztec pyramids. Perish the thought. A dog that is a god gets CARRIED up the stairs on a palanquin by his adoring devotees. He rests serenely at the top, indicating by the twitch of an ear or an eyebrow who shall be sacrificed next. He yawns prodigiously, stretches, and watches approvingly as the unworthy die hideously and their heads and headless torsos are thrown down the stairs to the cheering mob below...

At least that's the way my dog imagines it.
