I first met Colin at the Getaway in 2003 and we immediately became life long friends. In the fall of 2004, Col, the perennial bachelor, told me that he had found his true love and was planning to be married sometime the next spring or summer. He asked when I would be coming to England, for he wanted me to sing at his wedding. I was absolutely thrilled. I wrote a special love song for Colin and his bride entitled "Falling In Love".

Unfortunately, our trip to England was going to be too late in the summer for us to participate in the wedding. I telephoned Col in April to let him know that I was including a dedication to them both on my new CD which was nearly finished. He laughed that big booming laugh of his and said, "Christ, mate, don't do that. I just broke up with her." The last time I saw him was when I sang at the Four Fools Folk Club in August 2005. We shared a couple pints and a couple hugs. I miss my friend.
