The intervals, fingering and jumps between particular groups of notes are specifically suited to that instrument, often to make fingering simpler.Some tunes are simple on one instrument but incredibly difficult to play on some other instrument."

Excellent point Geoff, I have noticed some tunes probably fiddle tunes feel comfortable on the Mandola and hence easier to play in general and probably quicker.

I guess their should be something in what people said above about the number of fingers needed to make a note. whistles and pipes are often quick and perhaps keyboards?
