Wesley,

The few times I've been to Six Flags were when the kids had the 600 minute reading club passes they give elementary school kids. The periods you can go free are when it's hot as Hell in there, usually July 1 to Aug. 15. I would pack a cooler full of ice and cold drinks and sandwiches and at lunch time we'd head out to the parking lot and drag our cooler under the trees (they have shaded and covered picnic tables out there) so the kids could have a little down time and "normal" food. When you go someplace like that on a budget, the concession junk food is usually what breaks the bank.

We had a horrible experience there with the "lemonade." Someone in the group announced it would be better if it wasn't watered down with ice, but that stuff is concentrated (we learned) and has to be poured over ice or it is undrinkable. It was a waste and we finally found a fountain to dilute the stuff after pouring out a lot of it.

At least at Six Flags the give out free glasses of water.
