Don't let her go off to school alone. And go talk to the teachers, tell them what a delicate little blossom she is and all about her food and bathroom habits. Remind them that she isn't to play roughly and that because of her breathing problems she shouldn't be called upon too often in class. Give her little notes in her lunch or in her books that say things like "Mummy-kins and Da-da wove our liddle Ba-Ba-Boo vewy muchies." Call the school whenever the temperature outside drops to within ten degrees of freezing and remind them that she needs extra scarves and jumpers for the walk home...or better, send a cab 'round to pick her up.

This sort of thing will guarentee an Empty Nest as quickly as possible.
