My daughter is a sophomore at the university now, and has rented a house with four friends, one of them is her boyfriend. She just turned 19. Considering the choice of moving to campus and experimenting with different date partners or finding a nice pleasant young man to spend her time with I can't really argue. I hope she learns to take care of herself, though. She went from home to a dorm for a year where the school "took care" (after a fashion) of her, and now this house. At least she'll have to figure out how to pay her share of the bills.

My son is a sophomore in high school and it has been quite nice being able to engage in conversations with him as the lone teen in the house. The dynamic is different with two of them together. Not bad, just different. I am seeing the kid on his own now. There are times he misses having his sister here, because they get along well, but he's doing okay.

I agree with Kendall, they become more interesting as they grow up and I enjoy some of the visits with Moonglow when she can set aside the pouting teenager hat. She's getting better at that all of the time.
