Tomorrow's edition of Folk Roots/Folk Branches should be pretty interesting. My guest is James Talley. James was a favorite of mine back in the 1970s, but he left performing/recording for many years. He's back anow and his new album of Woody Guthrie songs, "Woody Guthrie and Songs of My Oklahoma Home," is just about my favorite new release so far this year. During the conversation, we'll hear three songs from the album, as well as a couple of James' classics from the '70s.
We'll also have a series of songs based on the Passover story by June Tabor, Odetta, Jesse Winchester, Kim & Reggie Harris, and Peter, Paul & Mary. And songs based on the Easter story by Reverend Gary Davis, the Golden Gate Quartet, and Ralph McTell.
Also tentatively scheduled are songs by Jerry Garcia-David Grisman-Tony Rice, Bernice Lewis, Bruce Molsky, Faith Petric, Kimmie Rhodes, Pete Seeger, the Sirens, Small Potatoes, Bill Staines, the Tarbox Ramblers, and more.
You can hear the show from 9-11:30 (eastern) on CKUT, 90.3 FM in Montreal, and in RealAudio from the Folk Roots/Folk Branches website.
