Papa Charlie's version of "Mama Don't Allow" is interestingly different. Makes you wonder what the original song was, or whether it originated with him. Frank Stokes also did an early version with the familiar "Mr. Crump Don't 'Low It" verses linked to W.C. Handy, but the song surely predates Handy.

These are great, Bob. Hope you don't mind my tweaking the formatting a bit. We try to avoid ALLCAPS in thread and message titles, and we try to have the song title in the message title. I've also been putting <big><b>big bold</big></b> to highlight song titles once I've reviewed and corrected formatting of songs.
