This is only visible to Internet Explorer users who bookmark a site. Also, the WebMaster must have put together an Icon file called "favicon.ico" that IE will request when the user bookmarks a site. This does two things:
It's a convenience to the User, and a warm fuzzy for the WebMaster.
- It gives the user a distinctive icon to mark the site
- It lets the WebMaster know when their site has been bookmarked by a user.
