What did they win?

I am a musician but neither a performer nor an author.

If I were an author, I am not sure what my answer to the following question would be:
What do you prefer?
Your music is played, but you receive no financial benefit.
Your music is not played.

The financial results are equivalent.
The non-financial results are not.

Would I prefer to be unknown and unrewarded.
Would I prefer to be known and unrewarded.

Tough call.
