The subscription info for the Scots list is as follows:

Bruce Olsen is right -- if you don't like deleting a lot of e-mail then don't bother, although his posts are always worth the read (check out his web page relating to broadside ballads -- he has obviously spent many years working on the subject.) Having said that, the traffic is generally not as heavy compared to some lists except when a topic flares up differing opinions. It is certainly not as mail intensive and as wildly off-topic as the Cape Breton Music List.

The Scots or Scottish (or Scotch or Scoatch!:)) list is mainly music, heavy on the fiddle, but also includes culture and language. That's why the discussion on such things as word usage (Scotch/Scottish/Scots/Scoatch). There are also discussions on gaelic and the occasional post in that language. People were also posting beer and ice cream recipes but that seems to have died down.

There can apparently be problems if you have some kind of nanny software, since people don't tend to mince their words when they have something to say.
